DIY Letter Holder Key Hook Organizer

Leaving home for a long day at the office, the last thing you want to do is find your keys and important documents. With a nifty, handmade letter and key organizer, misplacing critical items becomes a thing of the past. Stop wasting time rummaging through drawers to find urgent bills and car keys. With inexpensive materials, create a visually appealing organizer.

Instructions

1 Trim pegboard or cork board with a utility knife so it fits within the frame. Place the frame over the board to test fit.

2 Cut elastic bands on one end to form long elastic strings. Thread the band through one end of the pegboard and stretch across to the opposite end of the board. If you're using cork board, you need to manually poke a hole in the board using a utility knife. Secure in place by tying the ends together on the back of the board.

3 Cover the elastic band by threading a velvet ribbon through the same holes as the elastic band and across the board. Secure in the back, using the same method used to secure the elastic bands.

4 Attach galvanized pegboard hooks to the pegboard in various arrangements depending upon your personal preference. For cork board, use a hot glue gun to attach clothespins to the board. Allow the glue to dry.

5 Attach the board to the frame using screws and nuts. Secure the frame to the wall using two security hangers or regular picture wire.

6 Hang keys from the pegboard hooks. On cork board, hang keys from the attached clothespins. Secure mail and loose papers by placing them behind the elastic bands.
